One of the most valuable courses at the UI for me.
Well organized -- knew what going to happen on Mondays, Wed., and Fridays.
I learned a lot and it is a good class but it tended to be confusing and frustrating at times.
Overall, this is a good class. I feel like I learned alot; just the teaching style of the professor I didn’t like.
Good class, because I learned a lot but I do not feel that I was pleased with it at all times.
Overall, I did like the class. Even though the Wall Streets got monotonous at times, it was better than just reading a book and memorizing it.
I really enjoyed the class overall and feel that a lot of the aspects are and will be helpful in the future.
I’ve gone from loving the class to hating it many times this semester.
I liked the marketing concepts introduced...(comment on instruction).
Not the best class. Should change the class to meet only twice a week.

This class allowed me to apply all aspects of my previous marketing education in a highly practical way. I got a feel of what I can expect as I enter the job world in the near future. An excellent class.
By far the most entertaining/educational/applicable course in the business college that I have taken. I give credit for this to Prof. Schultz.
I think more classes should be this well planned and educational. The instructor is extremely organized and both he and his TA are very good about giving comments/feedback on your work.
It is the best class a student with a marketing major can take (even though it is required). I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt that I learned a lot. I will be able to apply the learned material in my job after graduation.
I really enjoyed the class.
Glad the class was created in time for me to take it... [adds personal note on career plans].
This class is one of the most applicable and real life courses I've taken. The WSJ as the main text is definitely an enriching experience. This class is excellent!
I thought it was a very interesting class that got me more involved with the WSJ. I would recommend Prof. Schultz to anyone.
Schultz is a riot!
Enjoyable class.
Overall I enjoyed the class and feel that I can take away a lot of what was taught and use it in the future.
Interesting class, enjoyed attending it.
Overall -- good class and interesting to attend. My favorite marketing class thus far.
[Begins with personal note] ... a great class.
Didn't like the test format but thought that the presentation and paper and the journal were excellent.
Dealing with real companies and real strategies instead of just terms in a textbook was a great change.
Visiting executives and having lunch with them was a good experience. Might be a good idea to have more of them come and visit.
Is a good class, but the instructor needs to be more encouraging and helpful.
Many of the classes were very boring and I wish that I wasn't required to take it.
Overall, I enjoyed the class most because I actually began enjoying the WSJ and otherwise I may never have read it or understood how relevant it is to business and world happenings.

FALL 1992
This is far and above the best course I have taken at the University of Iowa. Thanks!
This is -- by far -- the best class I've taken at Iowa!
I highly recommend this class to all business majors not marketing majors alone.
Very good class to take -- I recommend it to younger marketing majors/minors.
Overall, I enjoyed taking this class. I am confident that I will benefit from the ideas and concepts learned in this class when I am a CEO for a major marketing firm in Chicago.
Good class because we could apply our knowledge to actual situations.
Overall, the class was good. It taught me to do critical analyzing.
Overall it was an interesting class.
Overall a helpful and useful class.

SPRING 1992
I feel this is the best class I have had at Iowa. I hope it does not go the way of Bus. Policy and end up with 300 people.
Best class in Department!
I really enjoyed this class overall and have learned more practically than any other class. I know I can now apply what I have learned.
This was my favorite class in college.
Professor Schultz is a very effective professor and does a good job of both teaching and listening.
Thanks Professor Schultz. I enjoyed the class. I'm glad I took it even though I didn't need it.
Accomplished the goal of showing how different elements of marketing fit together as a whole.
This was a very successful class to cap my marketing studies at the U of I.
Excellent class -- I got a lot out of it without being overburdened with work right before graduating.
I thought this was a very interesting class. It was one of the best marketing classes that I have taken because you not only taught us marketing info but you made us apply it to everyday situations.
Instructor very competent and sincere.
In general I've had a very valuable learning experience with 6M:147 that it will hopefully help me in the marketplace.
By far the most valuable marketing course offered.
Overall the class was a very positive learning experience.
The cases were a very important learning experience. In fact, I probably learned the most from that.
It is one of the few classes in which I feel I have done more than simply memorize and regurgitate facts.
This course has some valuable information and I do think that it could be presented to the marketing student earlier in their academic career, maybe even their junior year.
I thought the format of the course was very effective. Mixing lectures, WSJ days and speakers was a good idea. It kept me from being bored, and kept class interesting.
Going back to the Wall Street Journal, I feel that learning what that paper has to offer is one of the most valuable lessons I will leave the university with.
It was one of the best courses I ever took, but I wish I could have contributed more through class discussions, or other written assignments. Thank you.
The material being presented in the class is very interesting. One of my favorite courses in this semester.
I feel I learned a lot more than most of my courses. You really help in preparing us for the real world. Thanks!
I probably learned more in this marketing class than any other. The fact that everything is current and deals with "real-world" problems is very valuable.

To obtain better feedback a special student evaluation that originated at Purdue University was used for seven years. This page is a complete listing of the general student comments. The special form has not been used recently since the course ratings—and thus presumably student comments—have remained consistent. To check this hypothesis, students were asked to add written comments to the ACE form in Summer, 2002. This is a complete listing.
All of the original course evaluations are on file.
